Wheelmen Report: Cal Poly Hosts Local Mountain Bike Action
Good morning.
On Nov. 1-2, the Cal Poly San Luis
Obispo Wheelmen cycling team hosted a plethora of mountain bike action at the “Dirt
Club” in Los Olivos.
After celebrating Halloween on Oct.
31, which collegiate racing campers enjoyed, cross-country and dual slalom
mountain bike action kicked off on Nov. 1. Collegiate and non-collegiate racers
took part in the festivities, to the delight of spectators that were viewing in
consistently inconsistent rain showers.
The rain showers played an
intriguing role throughout the weekend.

The cross-country scene saw
University of California, Santa Cruz make a strong impact. The Banana Slugs
impressed with first and third place finishes in the “Collegiate Men A”
category.

additional results, in the coming weeks.
After limited debate, Saturday afternoon’s
action involved dual slalom racing. While the dual slalom course was impacted
by rain showers, the racing moved forward.

costumes were on display, at the dual slalom course, and Jeff Shen took the cleanliness route.
Short-track cross-country and
downhill racing occurred on Sunday.
