Race weekends...

This year, a major focus for Cal Poly Cycling's road conglomerate was the 2018 Western Collegiate Cycling Conference (WCCC) road season. With a calendar that included races up and down the coast of California, the WCCC brought plenty of competition.

Here, Brad Wiggs and Colin Patterson, members of Cal Poly Cycling's category A squad, relax after a brutal criterium in Davis, California. After a season of racing, Colin Patterson claimed the WCCC individual omnium jersey, a major accomplishment. Now, for the team, it's time for nationals in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Everjourney: Inspiration Turned Motivation

Motivated by the adventure and freedom of cycling, Everjourney is a storytelling project that aims to inspire, all while remaining present in the moment. Wherever you are, be all there.

Everjourney is meant to resemble the everlasting journey of life. "Ever" represents wherever and whenever. "Journ" represents journalism, storytelling. "Journey" is self explanatory. A hodgepodge to carry deeper meaning, Everjourney is about adventure and travel, finding your outlet, and being present in the moment.

Through features, images, videos, routes, and reviews, Everjourney aims to inspire, while showcasing the sport of cycling. There is power in two wheels, and it needs to be highlighted.

Before Everjourney, there was "Sean Bird's Cycling Blog," which focused on reviews of popular cycling products. However, with influence from Thereabouts and Team Dream Bicycling Team, Everjourney was born. With the idea of carrying deeper meaning, all while personalizing the sport of cycling, and adding original flair, Everjourney offers a wider variety of media content, in addition to custom water bottles and cycling kit.

While media and content evolved fairly naturally, design has been a continuous process. Being raised in a suburb of Los Angeles, Southern California's style, pizzazz, and flair was influential. After beginning to admire fashion, subtle conversations with family and friends started to occur. Why can't we produce apparel and accessories ourselves? From this, well, we got jamming.

More Sending, Less Pretending is a ridiculous phrase that blossomed on an afternoon ride in the Angeles National Forest, while pedaling with Brad Wiggs, Senior Vice President of Design Consultation and Decision Making. Now, it's a catchphrase for apparel and accessories that highlights the true meaning of Everjourney, a spirited project that is meant to promote cycling.

Again, with inspiration from Thereabouts and Team Dream Bicycling Team, we're adding our original twist on cycling, through media content and custom items, all while showcasing the sport, as well as the adventure and freedom that it offers.

Product Sale: More Sending, Less Pretending Kit

In collaboration with Jakroo, Everjourney is offering custom kit, within the More Sending, Less Pretending moniker. With road and mountain jerseys, bib shorts, and buffs on offer, give this shop a gander.

For our first take, Hawaiian flair snatches the action. Up top, there's plenty of fun taking place, with pop colors and Hawaiian print. Meanwhile, we kept the bibs subtle and simple, just how they should be.

In collaboration with Jakroo, it has been a blast to bring Everjourney's visions to life. With custom kit online, hop to it. Moving forward, Everjourney is eager to continue offering additional options.

From a recent shoot with Adam Evard, this was taken on Prefumo Canyon Road, above San Luis Obispo, California. While known as a local stomping ground for road cyclists, Prefumo, which overlooks Morro Bay and the Pacific Ocean, was socked in on this morning ride.

More Sending, Less Pretending - always...

While out and about, it's always neat to prop some product in the air, granting it a fresh look, all in its natural habitat. Due to the collegiate road-racing scene, plenty of travel has taken place with Cal Poly Cycling, for Western Collegiate Cycling Conference competitions.

During our stay in Davis, California, at the beginning of April, a campus criterium provided a neat backdrop for one of our latest water bottles. To shop Everjourney water bottles, hop here.

Video of the Month: April 2018

Located along the Central Coast of California, Adventure Aide is focused on providing accessibility to the outdoors. Through connecting interested individuals with aides, it is possible to partake in a variety of outdoor adventures, including cycling, hiking, surfing, sailing, horseback riding, and walking tours.

With an aim to inspire, discover, and appreciate, Adventure Aide is leading the charge, in both San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara, by connecting individuals and aides, through their Adventure Aide application, for both iOS and Android.

While building a community, Adventure Aide has been focused on building top-end content. Back in February 2018, a collaboration between Adventure Aide and Everjourney allowed for the shooting of "4 Tips for Beginner Mountain Bikers." This video was shot in Montana de Oro, an unreal state park, which is about 15 minutes from San Luis Obispo.

For both Adventure Aide and Everjourney, there is a focus on living in the moment, while cherishing the outdoors, which made this a neat shoot that offered shared values. During an afternoon of gathering content, conditions continued to turn in our favor. Eventually, while gazing west, toward the Pacific Ocean, an unreal sunset popped, prior to descending at dusk.

With Adventure Aide, it is always a quality time. Be sure to give their platform a look, and hop on an adventure today.
